Dr. Bharat Balagopal received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, India, in 2010. He completed his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA, in 2014. He received his Ph.D from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at North Carolina State University in 2019. His research interest includes battery state of charge and state of health estimation, battery management system design, and analog circuit design. Hi, I come from Guang’an, a small and peaceful city located in southwestern China. I received my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2012. In 2014, I finished my master’s study in Power system and Automation at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China. Now I’m a PhD student in ECE department at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C. My research interests include distributed energy management and control, as well as network control and security.

Rakesh Mishra is from Bhubaneswar, a city in eastern India. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India, in 2012. He is currently pursuing his MS degree in Electrical Engineering at NC State University. His research interest includes control systems, energy management, and industrial automation.

Andy received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Buffalo in Aerospace Engineering in 1989. After graduating he worked at the United States Patent Office in Arlington VA as a patent examiner. Wishing to continue his education Andy completed his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University in 1995 concentrated in dynamics, vibration, and control. Since graduating Andy has held a number of positions in the industry, most notably with Lord Corporation (now a part of Parker-Hanafin), as the Director of Undergraduate Laboratories in the NCSU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, and as the owner of a consulting company, EMCS Technologies. His wish was always to complete a Ph.D. Andy is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University while working as a Sr. Controls Engineer for Windlift, Inc. His current research interests include airborne wind energy system dynamics and control, nonlinear/adaptive control, and computational intelligence.

Cong Sheng Huang is from Taipei, Taiwan. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, in 2010. He completed his Master of Science degree in Electrical & Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2012. He is currently a Ph.D student in the ECE Department at North Carolina State University. His research interest includes battery modeling, state of charge (SOC) estimation, battery management systems, and control theories.

Yuan Zhang received his B.E degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2007, and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University, USA, in 2012. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department at NCSU. His research interest includes Microgrid Control, Cooperative Distributed Control, Power System Energy Management, and Power System Modeling and Simulation.

Anirudh Batra hails from New Delhi, India. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi University. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Science degree in Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA. He is currently working on his Masters Thesis project on Holonic Multi-agent Systems. His research interests include multi-agent systems, distributed control systems, multi-agent robotic systems and computational intelligence.

Zheyuan Cheng received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, in 2015. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering at North Carolina State University, Raleigh. He joined the Advanced Diagnosis, Automation, and Control Laboratory at North Carolina State University in 2016. His research interests include distributed control systems, distributed optimization, cybersecurity, and computational intelligence. Navid Rahbari-Asr received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Tabriz, Iran, in 2008. In 2011, he received his M.Sc. in Control Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University, Raleigh in 2015. His PhD thesis was titled Cooperative Distributed Energy Scheduling in Smart Grids. He started working with Ford Motor Company after graduation.
